What is proper natural gas pipe size for tankless water heater of 185,000 btu max. capacity?
I have 3 4" line into meter, and 1" line out, reduced to 3 4" before going under house. Most lines under house are3 4" . I have one 1" line off the 3 4" line, from near the meter to the back yard, for a spa heater. Run from meter to heater is aprx. 50', plus 8 elbows tees. Can I tee off of the 1" line, for a run of aprx 25" with two elbows to the 3 4" connection on the heater, or do I have to replumb from the meter?

I got charge $1000 to install a hot water heater. Did I get screwed?
I received a call from my tenant in Falmouth, cape cod. She said the hot water tank was leaking. I told her to call a plumber. A few hours later she called and said he took the old one out and replaced it with a new one. I just received a bill for $1000. Labor and a 40 gal.gas, A.O. Smith water heater. This seems very high.
How does the water heater work?
I am new to the UK and don't understand how the heating system works in my apartment.There are 4 components a control panel in the kitchen where I can time the central heating and hot water and override both. a termostat sensor in the passage. a what I assume is a boiler a box in the kichen. near the front door is a large white tank of waterWhat I don't understand is that I have set my water to only go on twice a day for an hour and this should only use gas not so?But every so often the electricity spikes while the tank near the front door starts working the little room is very hot.Why is this tank using so much electricity and how can I control it?Here is more details Near the front door of my flat is a small room which has a large round tank of water which is about 1.5 meters in height. It has many pipes going in and out of it and it has an electric switch next to it. It seems to go on and off on its own schedule. In the kitchen is a boiler its a rectangular box with a small flap at the bottom. It has three lights which show when the flame is on or off and it has a small knob which adjusts from low to high not sure what it does exactly. On the wall in a kitchen is a small control panel about 10 cm by 5 cm. It allows me to schedule when the central heating goes on and also when the hot water goes it. On the wall in the passage is a small sensor which i assume is a thermostat is is about 2 by 2 cm in size.My problem is the tank in the small room goes on and off whenever it pleases and uses a huge amount of electricity i can tell by monitoring the electricity meter i got from british gas.Also Does central heating use electricity as well as gas?What is the point of the water being heated by the boiler by gas if its kept hot by electricity in the water heater tank ?
Why does the fuse on my hot water heater keep blowing?
The fuse on my hot water heater keeps blowing every couple of days and I'm not sure why. It used to work fine up until a couple of weeks ago. I have replaced both elements, both thermostats, and I cleaned the sludge build up out of the bottom of the tank. The heater switch is fed directly from the main on off switch for the house and then on two 20Amp time delay fuses. I am pretty sure that the wire from the fuses to the heater is 12 gauge wire. I noticed tonight that there is black on the one side of the heater switch. This is the same side that keeps blowing every couple of days. If the switch was arching at all causing the burn marks , could this cause the fuse to blow? If so, should I replace the switch as well? If not, where to from here?
What is the purpose of this lever on top of an electric 2 1/2 gallon hot water heater?
The manufacturer is Rheemglass and it was installed in the 1990s. The lever is silver colored, about 2 inches long and has the word " Watts" on it.
Is there a readable temperature gage that can be attached to a household water heater?
I frequently change the setting on my heater and would like have a way to tell the water temp without having to turn on the tap. This way I can warn my guests when it's hot enough to burna baby or an elderly person.

What would cause low hot water pressure (Hot water heater maintenance)?
Our hot water ONLY has recently lost pressure It barely comes out at all now. Cold water is fine. i have tried researching it and have only found that perhaps its that the lime calcium has built up in the bottom of the hot water heater.So.... is this most likely the cause or could it be something else?Also, who would I call to come " clean out" hot water heater? Is this a service a local plumber would offer?

Heard A.O. Smith is not that great anymore because there's a piece that breaks often on the new ones and you have to replace the entire assembly unit along with the piece each time. What would be good value for the money?
Why does my pilot light on hot water heater keep going out?
ok so I lt the hot water heater the light came on water got hot but when the heater turned off the light went out? so I lit it again and same thing after the water gets hot and it turns off the pilot keeps going out.

Hello,I just replaced both heating elements on my hot water heater a few months ago and everything worked great. Now i only have a hot shower for about 3 or 4 mins. and then the water go's cold. Could it be the thermostat? any other suggestions and hwo to fix it?
Water Heater Problems I think... Had a 40 gal. installed and we only get like 3-5 mins of hot water.?
We noticed that after the hot water runs out in the shower, we turn on our home heater runs off hot water and sure enough we get hot water flowing again...? The guy that installed it seemed to be a hack. We rent so had really no say so on who installs it. I'm wondering if he did not fill up the tank right. He just turned both valves on and pilot then left. We had all kinds of air in the lines at first. Isn't there some sort of steps to filling the hot water heater? Any help would be great. Oh and I noticed the release valve pipe is going strait up from the side HW heater and up and over. He was too lazy to cut the pipe since the old one had the valve on top. He actually used a bendable hose pipe to reroute the release valve HACK ....Hope I make sense. 10 pts to best answer. Thanks people
Water heater quick question.?
My water heater does not work. It has been raining the past few days and I believe the chimney where the heat is released was blown away. Thus my assumption is that this might be the case why the water does not heat? please help? could this be totally not realted to this? or you think it got dirty because of the rain?
State Industries Water Heater?
I'm looking to replace my water heater and a contractor has suggested that I go with the State brand. I have never heard of this brand and was wondering if this is a good brand for a gas water heater for a residential install. He told me its a reputable brand and similar to the AO Smith brand.
