Help with my water heater problems?
I had to replace the top element in my water heater because it went out volt meter showed nothing . Well, after replacing it and giving it a full day to heat the rest of my water up, my water heater still doesn't last as long as it used to.I checked with my volt meter and the new element works. There is a small leak around the seal, but I plan on replacing that seal as soon as possible. I turn off the power every now and then to clean the water out. To prevent a short.My question is, my element is working, so why isn't it making a difference?
Hot water heater issues?
For the past few years my wife and I have just been dealing with the fact that we only have 10 minutes of hot water to take a shower, it was like that when we moved in so we thought it was normal, but then when talking to some neighbors about this issue it turns out the most of our neighbors have taken long showers and NEVER run out of hot water, they just got out because they were done not because the water turned cold. The past couple of months though has been a little worse. The biggest problem was the short shower time, but it also took a decent bit to get hot when you turn the water on and also the max temperature was hotter than I would like to shower in, but it wasn't so hot that I couldn't shower in it if I wanted to.I finally called the landlord and they sent someone out. He said that both elements were bad, and he replaced them. Now, the water gets hot much faster and the maximum temperature is much hotter, but it still only lasts about 10 minutes. I only turn the water on just enough that it comes out at a halfway decent pressure, so not much at all, but it still runs out very fast. Here is an example, this morning my wife got in the shower at about 8 45am, got out of the shower at about 8 55am because the water had gotten cold. I waited until 10 00am then got in the shower, got out at 10 05am because the water had already gotten cold. Last night I thought I heard a dripping noise coming from the utility closet the hot water heater is in and I checked it right away but the floor and everything I could see was completely dry.Any ideas?

How much water should come out of the overflow pipe on the water heater?
We just bought a house, and for some reason the drain by the water heater is covered so there is a bucket under the overflow pipe. I have never noticed the amount of water that comes from this because there is usually a drain and you don't see it, so now I am wondering it this much should be coming out? So what is the approx amount that should come from it each day?I know that SOME water should come out of it. Hence the reason its called an overflow pipe.There is an expansion tank already. Do I need to replace my vavle maybe?

Should I call a plumber or try to purchase one from a big box store Lowes, Home Depot and have them install it. I live in a small house with only one other person and I don't need anything fancy. I'd like to do this home repair as efficiently as possible and spend as little money as is required. Any ideas? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

solar panel chocked due to the deposits of salt like white granules thus preventing the water from getting circulated through the pipe lines inside the panel and not getting hot water properly.
Can I have an electric tankless water heater in an apartment rental?
I am clueless about tankless water heaters other than I like the idea of it. My apartment has an old electric water heater. I'd like to get a tankless but I dont want it permanantly installed. Is there a way to just disconnect the old one and have this one installed so it can be reversed if I move out? and can the average joe install one or is it pretty complicated if one is good at following directions?We use very little hot water as it is so the smallest unit is all we would need.
I spilled some nasty smelling trash water under my water heater...how to clean it up?
i put my trashbag in the closet and forgot about it and i guess the trashjuices seeped out. anyway i cleaned up the outside of the waterheater but it still smells like crap because juice is under the heater. any suggestions?its a tiled floor by the way.

How much hot water should i get from a 68 gallon gas water heater ?
i was in a house befor with a 60 gallon water heater and it seemed to last for 35 45 minutes. the house im in now has a 68 gallon heater and it is only hot for 15 20 minutes. my shower head is a little bigger but is that the problem?
My hot water heater has started to buzz?
Just today my hot water heater has started to buzz. Do i need to replace it? Anyone know whats wrong with it? Are they hard to replace or could i possibly do it on my own instead of hiring a plumber. The buzzing is annoying and i don't want it to explode water all over if i can prevent it.
Does problem with water heater cause yellowish water?
My tap water was yellowish colour ONLY hot water ......I called my water heater service they came and cleaned my water heater today. After they r gone, the water is still a little bit yellowish.MY QUESTION 1 Is the water safe??2 Should I call them....or just wait because maybe the stuff that was at the bottom of water heater which the company said to cause the yellowish water didn't clean up fully and is coming with the water now??

if you drain a water heater of the impediments? that gather on bottom, does this improve having hot water longer when taking a shower?oh boy, i meant sediments, what was i thinking, it's late.
