Question: My bradford white water heater from 1999 failed. can you help me determine the warranty period?

Model # M15036EN10 Serial # SJ2893242- 131E0222 installed 6/ 30/ 99 The documentation that accompanied it doesn't clarify the warranty. I thought 10 years. Manuf. says I didn't purchase a warranty.

No such animal, all water heaters come with 5, 10 or longer warranties, you don't have to purchase it. Of course the operative question is what failed, the warranty usually covers the tank, or obvious manufacturer defects, check for a Bradford website and send an e-mail to customer service, try to contact the installer. Basic warranty is 5 years. The upgraded models are 10.

They apparently should know if you purchased a warranty or not, it would be in their records

Most water heaters are warranted for rust through only, after the intial warranty period. So if the elements have failed, just replace them. If it has rusted out, then you need to contact a representative about it from that company.

Is it 10yrs limited warranty? Some warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on....check out the fine print...if it is limited warranty... what parts of the water heater does it cover.... casing, coil, main element??
