Just drained electric hot water heater, but no hot water. Cause for alarm?
We followed the directions for draining and filling, found in the manual. I checked for hot water about 15 minutes later. No hot water. Is it too early to begin worrying or is this a problem?Turned the circuit breaker off before draining and turned it on after the heater was filled.To release the the air, we turned on the nearest hot water tap. Air did rush through for about 5 minutes but then water resumed flowing as normal. I assume this cleared out all trapped air. we have combined taps

We had been using our electric hot water and our oil tank to heat the water. I loved it. My husband just discovered a way to only use the electric hot water to heat our water and as a result, does not use the oil tank anymore. We heat our house with a pellet stove. Our oil tank is empty and he said that's not a problem, as we have an electric hot water and a pellet stove, which he would rather use than pay the expensive price for more oil. But my problem is.....the water in the shower is warm but not hot. The water was just the right temperature when it was working off both the electric water heater and the oil. But my husband refuses to use the oil tank now. I guess it makes sense for his reasons not to, but I hate taking a shower when the water is like bath water. Is there something we're overlooking because I don't think I should be this unhappy.

Problem With Electric Hot Water Heater?
My Mom Heard a Loud Pop, and now theres no hot water, my sisters boyfriend who is an Electrician, said that it tripped the breaker and he checked the hot water heater with a meter reader and said that the bottom heating element wasnt giving a reading, so i replaced the heating element, and there is still No Hot Water. i looked on google and it might be the thermostat, but i dont know. what could it be???
