Where can I find parts for an electric vent assembly on a gas water heater?
The electric motor that drives the fan is made by " Fasco" . None of the store like Home Depot or Loews have nay assemblies or parts. It is a plastic impeller that cracked where it meets the drive shaft of the motor. This is for a horizontal vent on a gas hot water heater. Any information about stores between north northwest Chicagoland and Kenosha Wisconsin would be appreciated. I would like to pick it up in person so I can be sure I am getting the right one. Not interested in getting it online. Thanks I am mostly looking for stores that carry either replacement parts for water heater " draft inducers" , or complete replacement units. Any brands companies would be considered. Northeastern Illinois through Southeastern Wisconsin.
My gas water heater won't light?
I have a Kenmore Water Miser 6. This morning when I went to take a shower there was no hot water yesterday it was fine. Checked the gas in the house and it's working. Checked the pilot on the water heater and it is not lit. Tried to light it following the instructions on the water heater electronic ignition type and nothing. I actually don't even see it spark when I push the ignition button. Any ideas what might be wrong?Water heater is about 5 years old...tried probably 5 or 6 times to light. No spark and I'm not smelling any gas. Any chance it could be the thermocouple? I read about that on a couple other posts...OK the Gas Co came out not related to the water heater my dryer was smelling like gas Anyways, they got the water heater on for me. But about 1 2 hour after they left, it went off again
Is the burner in a gas water heater supposed to go out?
the pilot stays lit but after a heating cycle it seems like the burner just turns off.Also, this is a brand new water heater. Just came out of the box yesterday.Ok, cool... lol I was worried. Thank you very much

How do I turn on my gas water heater?
I've just moved into a new house and our hot water isn't working. I think it might be gas heated, but I have no idea what I'm doing because I've never dealt with gas before. My gas was connected a week ago, and I called them again yesterday to confirm this. They're sending someone out to have a look and make sure it is turned on. But I just want to make sure it is actually my gas that's the problem, in case my gas actually is working, and it's my water heater that needs to be turned on.

Want to make sure that the back of my upright electrical freezer being only 2 inches away from my water heater presents NO FIRE HAZARD. The water heater is 3 years old. The upright Sears freezer is 20 years old. Both work well...just want to know if there is any reason not to put them so close together in the same room.Thanks

Gas Water Heater requires the power to be cycled on and off to keep working.?
Gas water heater works fine for a day, week or a month but eventually the water is cold. I thought it was the thermostat because I would turn off the power hit the reset on the thermostat, turn the power back on and presto the gas lights and we are good to go until the next time it stops working. I replaced the thermostat thinking that was the obvious problem but no luck Actually seemed to happen more often Finally I discovered that all I needed to do was cycle the power off and on and it fires back up.Oh another observation. It seems to fail most often after heavy hot water usage. That makes some sense Something overheating maybe. I searched the forums and discovered the flame arrestor might be an issue. I cleaned the flame arrestor as good as I could and removed a warped piece of linoleum that may have been inhibiting the air intake.Is there a weak component? Any ideas?
Gas water heater running but not producing hot water?
My gas burner is running continuously and the thermostat is already set on max. The problem is it produces very mild warm water and only last for a good few minutes. I did not have this problem last year. Would greatly appreciate your guy's help, thanks for reading.
Gas water heater- what makes thermocouple go bad?
I have an approximately 6 year old water heater. The thermocouple went out back around Christmas. Replaced it lasted about 3 days, thought I may have damaged it when tightening, replaced again it lasted about 3 months.Any ideas?Thanks for your answer Okay, thanks Jeff D I replaced the thermocouple lit the pilot waited about a minute turned on the gas valve it fired right up. Making hot water now.Before I replaced it the pilot light would not stay on when I released the pilot button. Flame is blue no doubt.Thank you
