How much does a new water heater cost (installation and everything)?
We recently got the rods in our water heater replaced because we were having trouble with the water staying hot in the showers. Now just like a day after the rods were installed the water from the sinks and the showers are ice cold immediately after turning the knobs on hot. I'm afraid the whole water heater may have to be replaced. How much would it cost for the water heater to be replaced?
Can i put my hot water heater under my stairs?
I have an electric hot water tank and id like to move it. The best place would be under the stairs. But the height of the tank has me worried. If i moved it under the stairs then there would only be 2 3 inches of clearance. But its enough that the pipes will still fit without touching anything.If i moved it there, is it safe? Is that a code violation?
Do I need a licensed plumber to move/replace a water heater?
I am purchasing a condo in Anaheim and know many unlicensed contractors, but don't think I can use them. I know I have to get a permit, especially considering I'm moving the water heater from the second floor to the garage. So I'm assuming since a Government Agency will be involved, my contractor has to be licensed. Am I wrong?From what I've been told, relocating the water heater won't be that difficult being the washer is right inside the door where it's going. As long as the proper piping is in place, they should be able to extend it out to the garage.

Just moved into new house. The water heater is in crawl space. I have noticed the top of heater is covered in mice droppings. I have laid out traps and poison. The water heater is in hard spot to reach, should i be worried about the waste around or on top of heater?

need a new water heater and most have a 3 to 6 year warranty. and some of the reviews from home depot brands are pretty badi have had a state gas water heater since 1997 it has been noisy but works greatit might be as old as the house built in 1992,prob is state does not have prices on their website bad sales move anyway need a water heater that will last and not break the bank i an disabled and dont have alot of income

My friends old water heater is making a loud banging sound?
Its an OLD gas furnace and it literally sounds like someones in the basement with a pipe wrench just smacking the crap out of it. Its gotten to the point where my friend cant sleep. His land lord claims nothing is wrong.Any advice? LilJoe I mean a gas powered water heater.
Problem with new water heater?
Our landlady had a new 40 gallon gas water heater installed today. Her handyman turned off the main water and the hot water leading upstairs heater is in the basement . After he was done and left, we turned on the 1st floor sink's hot tap, we got nothing but air. So, we let it run and get the air out of it, it took about 10 minutes. We tried the upstairs tub hot water tab, there was no air or water. We checked the valve going to the upstairs, it was off, so we turned it back on. Now, we get very little water from the sink tap and just a even smaller trickle of water in the tub. How can we fix this? We haven't had hot water in 6 days and this is getting old.We live in a duplex, heater is in the basement, kitchen on the first floor and tub on the second floor. And help would be fantastic.We've already called the landlady, the handyman isn't coming back until tomorrow, I just really want a shower. There is plenty of pressure in the cold tap, and I've rechecked the valves and still nothing.

Hot Water Heater Installation Question?
My husband and I recently bought an older house. The house has a combination oil boiler for the radiant heat and the hot water for the faucets shower. The water temperature is inconsistent at best and down right cold at worst.I want to get a hot water heater installed, but we were curious about the installation costs.The Facts There is currently no hot water tank The basement is segmented into three rooms, the one with the oil boiler is quite small and cramped There is a gas line running to the house however, at this point it is unused We live in the northeast Thanks for any input that you may have.
