What should I set the HI and Low temps at on my oil water heater?
I live in Maine.... I just bought a house.... it has an oil water heater.... a hi and a low... where should i put them so I dont run out of hot water in the middle of a shower.... but dont need an oil refill every 2 weeks.thanks so much

How much oil does an oil water heater use a month?
We have a oil water heater. Our landlords filled the tank in June 08 before we moved in. We are now down to a quarter of a tank of a 250 gallon tank. This means we've used about 50 gallons of oil a month for hot water. Does this seem insane or is it just me? Theres only 2 of us and we take quick showers and wash our laundry with cold water, Could I really be using over a gallon a day of oil for hot water? Thats like $200 a month for hot water.I have no control to switch to an electric. It is a rental property and thats what they put in. As far as I know the water heater is new.
